How to take care of your jellyfish?

Keeping jellyfish is very easy and can be done by everyone. Although jellyfish look exotic, caring for them is no different from caring for fish, for example.

A jellyfish has no brain and many other organs. It doesn't realise whether it is in an aquarium at home or in the ocean, in its natural habitat. Our starter kits are 100% animal friendly.

It all depends on the quality of the water. Jellyfish especially like clean water. All of our aquariums have built-in filtration to help keep the water perfectly clean for as long as possible. However, regular water changes are necessary, usually about 15% of the aquarium's capacity is changed every 10 days. So if you have a 15 litre aquarium, you will change about 2 litres of water every 10 days.

The correct salinity of the water is also an important factor. The salinity value must be 32 ppt. You can easily measure this value using the salinity measuring device - refractometer - which is included in the complete packages.

What do jellyfish eat?

Jellyfish eat mainly artemia or plakton. In domestic conditions they may eat mainly dry food, which we also sell. This food has the perfect nutritional values for a good jellyfish life.

Nitrifying bacteria, which live in the aforementioned filtration, are also added to the aquarium. They are added once every 10 days, the dose depends on the size of the aquarium.

To summarise, all that is necessary to keep jellyfish is:

- water changes
- feeding 3 to 4 times a week
- adding bacteria
- cleaning the aquarium
